Lunch seminar attracted many to Visual Arena

Thursday, March 19, 2015

Thursday March 12 was once again time for an inspirational lunch seminar combined with networking at Visual Arena. This time it was the members of Creative Tools and Autodesk who attracted a full house.

In addition to a delicious lunch and networking, the lunch event also included a demonstration of a 3D printer in operation, the little 3D-Benchy was beginning to take shape.

“The 3D-Benchy is extremely detailed and difficult to print, consequently it functions as a quality test. If a 3D printer is able to produce 3D-Benchy, it will be able to manufacture nearly everything,” says Nicklas Jarl at Creative Tools.

3D printer is here to stay
More information was then provided about the 3D printer and its future prospects in the Studio. Nicklas also presented a number of creative examples of application areas where the objective will govern the choice of model that is most suitable for use. According to Nicklas, it is only a matter of time before everyone has a 3D printer at home and he believes that this will happen in about five years.

World-class visualization
Autodesk is world leading in 3D design programs for entertainment, architecture and design visualization. Matti Ööpik presented the company’s key products and demonstrated several examples of effective and interactive experiences. Autodesk’s software has been used for special effects in such award winning movies as The Hobbit and Avatar. If you are a student, teacher or in any other manner associated with the academic world, sharing Autodesk’s software is free of charge.

Networking for inspiration and exchange of knowledge
“It is very gratifying that these lunch seminars are so popular! It has become an established concept by which our members have the opportunity to present their operations and how they work using visualization, combined with lunch, networking and inspiration, which can lead to new cooperation and innovation,” says Helena Rydén, Project Manager at Visual Arena Lindholmen.
