The electrification of the transport sector is central to Sweden and Europe meeting the climate goals, and the inauguration of SEEL marks a milestone in the development towards a more sustainable transport sector.
On Friday 1 September, SEEL, the Swedish Electric Transport Laboratory, was inaugurated, It is owned by RISE and Chalmers and consists of three units in Gothenburg, Nykvarn and Borås.
''RISE's strength is to bring actors together to gather strength and drive world-class research and development. At SEEL, industry and research meet to accelerate the changeover in electrification and strengthen the competitiveness of the Swedish automotive industry'', says Pia Sandvik, CEO of RISE.
''In the rapid changes that will be required, Chalmers' role as a technical university is to contribute with the research breakthroughs and the engineering expertise required, but the change itself must be done by many actors together. SEEL is a fine example of exactly this'', says Martin Nilsson Jacobi, President and CEO of Chalmers.
