During the winter and spring, work is underway for the construction of a new tramway which may affect your journey to and from Lindholmen. From the middle of February, the traffic in Lindholmsallén will be redirected, which means that cars and public transport will be allowed to coexist in the bus lane. Expect longer travel times during rush hour.
Last autumn, work began on building the new tramway and city bus route between Frihamnen and Lindholmen, which should be ready at the turn of the year 2025-2026. The work affects traffic in the area in different ways.
From February 15, part of the avenue, at the height of the Lindholmen stop, will be closed to traffic in the direction of Frihamnen. This means that car and public transport can coexist in the bus lane from the Lindholmen stop to Götaverksgatan. Traffic to and from Lindholmspiren may follow signage and is let through with the help of a light signal.
From February 19, part of the avenue will be closed in the opposite direction, on the stretch between Pumpgatan and Regnbågsgatan. Even there, cars and public transport can coexist in the bus lane.
Pedestrians and cyclists will continue to be able to bypass the area as before.
If you take public transport, you can keep track of your journey in Västtrafik's To Go app.
