electric car poolThe number of users in the world's first complete electric car pool, located in Lindholmen, is steadily increasing. When the electric car pool opened in spring it had 50 users, today there are 80 people who borrow electric cars when they need a fast and environmentally friendly drive from Lindholmen to different parts of town.

One of the users name is Magnus Holmqvist and works at Volvo IT. So far, he is very pleased with the electric car pool.
- We will try this and critically examine what the advantages and disadvantages are. So far the electric car has many benefits; it is not so different, it acts as any vehicle. It is very easy to book online and there is no need for keys. There is also an incredibly positive impact that this can radically reduce emissions.

Magnus Holmqvist is one of 80 test drivers, with access to five electric vehicles currently available in the electric car pool. But even though he is in favor of the electric car pool has worked so far as he sees the disadvantages. Deficiencies that would slow down the process if you would like to have electric cars in addition to bicycles on Lindholmen.
- The demand is much greater than the supply. There are few different solutions. Say that I'm going to Trollhättan and Volvo Aero. To take the electric car to the station and leave it there easily. Then take the train to Trollhättan and there take another electric car to Volvo Aero. And then to go back the same way. How do we solve this? We have many challenges ahead, said Magnus Holmqvist.

The pilot experiment is part of the project Test Site Sweden run by Lindholmen Science Park AB, a joint research unit where industry, academia and society work together to strengthen the development of sustainable transport.
