Many gather for The Lindholmen Sailing Challenge – 23 April

Lindholmen Sailing Challenge takes place on 23 April, when students and companies compete in First 47.7 boats. Some 80 students will compete against companies such as Ericsson, AB Volvo, IBM, Combitech and Procter & Gamble in the event, which takes place on the Göta River (Göta Älv) in front of Lindholmspiren. Everyone is welcome to cheer along the teams and watch these fine boats!

Fascinating sailing seminar on Archipelago Raid – 23 April

On the afternoon of 23 April a sailing seminar will be held by Johan Örtendahl and Fredrik Aurell. They will be showing photos and talking about the very demanding catamaran race, the Archipelago Raid. The seminar is open to anyone who is interested.
Time: Around 3.30–3.45 p.m. (depending on finishing time for the race).
Place: Restaurant at Lindholmspiren 5

Seminarium Lindholmen Science Park

Don’t miss the Security Arena lunch seminar – 27 April

Web applications often have security holes that allow hackers to collect confidential information or gain unauthorised access. Most of these attacks are the result of faulty or incomplete validation of data input by users. To help detect such vulnerabilities a technique known as taint analysis has been developed for the most widely used web script languages. The seminar will be held by Alejandro Russo, PhD, a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Chalmers University of Technology.

Innovative exhibition by Lindholmen design students – from 20-29 April

An exhibition of work by design engineering students from Chalmers University of Technology is being held until 29 April. The purpose is to provide fresh inspiration and the exhibition takes the form of sketches, drawings, models and other work.

SYSteam flyttar på Lindholmen  

SYSteam is expanding at Lindholmen Science Park - June 2010

IT company SYSteam Enterprise AB likes Lindholmen and intends to move into bigger premises in the area. In June 2010 the company will be moving into offices with an area of 1,130 square metres at Lindholmsallén (M2).
-Staying in Lindholmen also means that we will be surrounded by colleagues in the same field, as there are many companies here that work in a similar area to us. We see this is as a clear benefit, says Staffan Hansson, CEO of SYSteam Enterprise.
SYSteam is an IT consultancy with offices in over 40 locations in the Nordic region and around 1,250 employees. The company currently employs 91 people in Lindholmen.

Sustained interest in study visits to Lindholmen Science Park

Lindholmen Science Park is an area that fosters unique collaboration between industry, universities and society. Every year Lindholmen Science Park attracts visitors from Sweden and abroad who are keen to see the area for themselves. Around 15 study visits have already taken place this year. Further study visits will take place in spring from locations that include Lyon, Poland, China and Germany.



VTI bygger unik simulator på Lindholmen

Watch a unique driving simulator take shape

A new driving simulator is currently being built by the Swedish National Road and Transport Research Institute (VTI) in Lindholmen. When it is ready for use in autumn 2010 the simulator will offer a world-class research environment. The driving simulator uses a sophisticated movement system that permits linear movement in the x and y axes. The cab layout can be switched between car and truck environments and the simulator has a horizontal angle of view that exceeds 180 degrees.
