Campus Lindholmen

Studenter

The University of Gothenburg and Chalmers University of Technology have established both independent and joint study and research units at Campus Lindholmen. The Yrkeshögskolan Göteborg and various upper secondary schools are also located here.

Chalmers University of Technology
Chalmers has been at Lindholmen since 1994. Over 2,000 graduate engineering students currently study at Campus Lindholmen.

IT University in Gothenburg
The University of Gothenburg and Chalmers University of Technology run a joint network organisation called the IT University in Gothenburg. The organisation’s activities mainly take place at Lindholmen, where around 1,000 students are enrolled in various cross-disciplinary science programmes with emphasis on IT.

Yrkeshögskolan Göteborg
The Yrkeshögskolan Göteborg is Sweden’s largest centre for qualified professional training. It has numerous disciplines including Advertising, Events, Web Design, Computer Graphics Design, Photography and Design Technology.

Research centers

Safer
The vehicle and traffic safety centre Safer currently coordinates projects and activities in Lindholmen Safety Arena. Safer has 24 partners in industry, university and the public sector, which are involved in cross-disciplinary research projects. Safer also has the role of coordinating project applications, for instance regarding projects under the EU Seventh Framework Programme. Over 40 projects and feasibility studies are currently under way.

Software Centre
Software Center is a collaboration on software research at Chalmers University of Technology, University of Gothenburg, Ericsson, Saab, Volvo Group and Volvo Cars. Software Center is in the house Kuggen at Lindholmen. 

Lighthouse
Lighthouse is a centre for Scandinavian maritime competence, and is based in Gothenburg. Lighthouse is a collaboration between Chalmers, the School of Business, Economics and Law at the University of Gothenburg and the Swedish Shipowners’ Association.

Northern Lead
Northern Lead is a logistics competence centre formed by the University of Gothenburg and Chalmers University of Technology in co-operation with the Logistics and Transport Society LTS. In total there are more than 50 people working as researchers and/or teachers at the five research groups which constitutes the core of Northern Lead.
