On Thursday 4 March the foundation slab will be laid for the spectacular new Kuggen (“Gearwheel”) building designed by Gert Wingårdh.

    The Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency (MSB) and Lindholmen Science Park have signed a new three-year framework agreement on research and development in civil security covering the period 2010–2012.

    EU-möteOn 10 December, the EU Directors General for Civil Protection gathered at Lindholmen Science Park in Gothenburg. The meeting is conducted during each chairman year and the aim is that Directors General of Civil Protection and the European Commission to carryv out informal discussions on current issues, and on the further development of civil protection.

    Energy efficient transport, while maintaining road safety, makes new demands on future traffic systems. Test Site Sweden is therefore developing a test environment for active safety - ASTA (Active Safety Test Area) located in West Sweden. The investment will strengthen Sweden’s profile as an international centre for road safety and initially create 20 new jobs.

    During the ITS World Congress in Stockholm, Lindholmen Science Park will unveil its new demo theatre, where actors will demonstrate how various intelligent transport system solutions will affect people’s lives in the future.

    Lindholmen Science Park’s growth continues, despite the credit crunch and automotive crisis in 2009. The number of companies has increased from 188 to 230 in a year, and there are currently 16,800 employees and students – 600 more than in the same period in 2008.

    The Lindholmen Relay will kick off at 6 p.m. today in Göteborg, with 800 participants. Thirteen of the teams participating in the race are from companies at Lindholmen Science Park’s central building at Lindholmspiren 5. This makes Lindholmen Science Park the sportiest building in Lindholmen.
