Hasse Johansson, new Chairman of the Board of Lindholmen Science Park
Hasse Johansson, Scania’s Head of Research and Development, has succeeded Sven Eckerstein as Chairman of the Board of Lindholmen Science Park.
Why were you attracted to the position of Chairman of the Board of Lindholmen Science Park?
-Lindholmen Science Park is an exciting hub for collaboration between academia, industry and the public sector, with a strong focus on the future. Development and the future is something that has always interested me, especially technical development.
How do you regard your role as Chairman of the Board of Lindholmen Science Park?
-As Chairman, I hope to be able to coordinate the various interests at Lindholmen and among the Board members, and to create consensus regarding decisions that are important to Lindholmen Science Park’s further development.
Which are the most important issues that you will promote at Board meetings?
-To continue to unify the wide representation on the Board from the academic, industrial and political sectors. It is important for the most influential decision-makers to be able to prioritise their commitment to the Board.
What professional experience and knowledge will come in useful in your role as Chairman of the Board?
-All experience generally comes in handy sooner or later. My experience of running my own company, being an entrepreneur and as executive manager of large corporations helps me to see both sides of arguments. My experience of the academic and political sectors is more limited, so I’ve probably got plenty left to learn in those areas.
Which issues are most important to Lindholmen Science Park’s future development?
-One issue that interests me a lot is how we can involve the public in Lindholmen Science Park’s activities. We have many exciting ideas regarding the future and technical solutions which I’m sure are of interest to the public. Another important issue is how to make our research environment even better known internationally.
