The User Experience and Speed Challenge 

Welcome to Lindholmen Software Development Day 2012 #SDD12. Focus for this years conference is Software as the Competitive Edge in Product Development - New Technologies and Practices for Software Development taking on the increasing demands in User Experience, the speed to market, and closing the feedback loop between customers and developers.

Lindholmen Software Development Day aims to bring together software developers and managers, project managers, business developers and academic scientists to exchange experiences and results, and to discuss practical challenges in software development. This is a single day conference with internationally recognized speakers, interesting presentations and a great opportunity to establish new contacts.

Software Development Day is being held in Gothenburg for the eight year. Last year's conference was a great success. More than 300 people attended. This year we hope to give you another amazing event. 

The conference takes place 19th of October, in cooperation between Lindholmen Science Park, Ericsson, Volvo Group, Volvo Car Corporation, Cybercom, the University of Gothenburg, the IT University, Chalmers University of Technology, Ascom, Swedsoft and Know IT.

This event is extended to software developers, managers, project managers, business developers. The conference is free of charge, but participants pay for their own lunch. The deadline for registration is 5 October.

Call for presentations

Software as the Competitive Edge in Product Development - New Technologies and Practices for Software Development taking on the increasing demands in User Experience, the speed to market, and closing the feedback loop between customers and developers.

More often than ever, product development is an act of exceeding the customers’ expectations in terms of User Experience (UX), in which software plays a central role.

The product differentiation is today very much about how the customer experiences the feature.

The future UX software development toolbox has to include improved methods, tools and technologies for handling continuous deployment, collaboration, and information security.

Lindholmen Software Development Day 2012 recognizes this challenge by inviting speakers willing to share views and experiences of current challenges in software development.

Topics of interest include, but are not restricted to

• perspectives on the changing nature of software development; 
• experience reports from new or changed ways of working; 
• new or improved technologies that may help in addressing new challenges; 
• new or improved practices to meet new challenges.
• Agile development methods
• Information security
• On demand software delivery
• HMI
