Development in the area
Lindholmen Science Park is undergoing continuous development and at the moment, we are in the midst of a very expansive phase, in terms of the physical development of the area. The following is a presentation of some of the ongoing and planned construction projects.

The construction has begun of Karlastaden in Lindholmen, a modern and dense center containing everything that makes a city a city. At its center, the tallest residential building in the Nordic region has pride of place. Karlastaden includes a total land area of about 32,000 square meters, which will comprise approximately 15 blocks with housing units, offices, retail, care and service facilities.
Geely's innovation center
Work is underway on Pumpgatan on Geely’s new European innovation center, which will comprise up to 70,000 square meters and accommodate 3,500 employees.
Atrium Ljungberg äger tre fastigheter på Lindholmen: M2:an, Tornen, Citadellet och Lindholmen 30:1 som tillsammans omfattar 73 000 kvadratmeter uthyrbar area. Byggnaderna innehåller moderna och flexibla kontorslokaler som med sina spännande detaljer från varvstiden andas själ och historia.
The Yard är namnet på en ny arena för små, nya och växande techbolag i Götaverkens gamla varvsområde. Äldre varvslokaler anpassas för att bli en plats för startups och teknikdrivna bolag, och erbjuda en kreativ och alternativ miljö som stärker det innovationskluster som redan finns på Lindholmen.
Lindholmshamnen will become a modern, central and sustainable residential area — close to the water’s edge the area will be interspersed with parks, service facilities and quayside life in this classic shipyard setting. Älvstranden Utveckling is leading a consortium comprising Peab, HSB and Skanska, which are jointly building the new housing block in Lindholmshamnen comprising 450 apartments and about 3,000 square meters of business premises.
Central Lindholmen is continuing to expand and Chalmersfastigheter, in collaboration with Älvstranden Utveckling, is drawing up an expansion plan for central Lindholmen. This is catering for the expansion of Chalmers and will also allow the business community around Lindholmen Science Park to grow and evolve.
The Dockan district is a residential block with Nordic Swan eco-labelled tenant-owner buildings and one of the buildings is also a daycare center. The district is located between the former Götaverken’s two brick buildings and opens out onto a park, and was completed in 2018.
HSB Brf Blanka is building 114, 1–5 room apartments in the exciting Lindholmshamnen district, with its unique location by the water’s edge. The apartments were ready to move into during 2021.
Tests and demonstrations for the mobility solutions of the future
Our innovative cluster is a good test environment for mobility solutions of the future. Here you can see some examples of what different organizations, such as Ericsson and Chalmers, have tested and demonstrated in the area.
Lindholmens tekniska gymnasium
In February 2018, construction began of the new Lindholmen tekniska gymnasium at Lindholmskajen on Norra Älvstranden. The building project was focused on sustainable development and was completed in the autumn of 2020.
