Within e-Mobility, we initiate and build development projects to strengthen Sweden's competitiveness and accelerate the electrification of the transport system. We also gather expertise in various networks, with the aim of driving, for example, the development of charging infrastructure, battery development, hydrogen initiatives, and solutions for shared charging infrastructure and grid balancing.

As a result of the electrification of parts of the transport system, a new complex ecosystem is emerging with new stakeholders, value chains, and business models. To address this, e-Mobility works through various initiatives to mobilize a broad partnership with a focus on knowledge sharing and innovative projects that can drive development in identified areas.

To form the right constellations, we collaborate with and develop a large network of, among others, cargo owners, freight forwarders, parking companies, charging station operators, energy and grid companies, freight terminals and property owners, the automotive industry, SMEs and start-ups. For a complete perspective we also work with public organizations such as the Swedish Transport Administration and the Swedish Energy Agency, competence centers such as the Swedish Electromobility Center, the Swedish Electric Transport Laboratory (SEEL), universities, municipalities, and research institutes.

Partly we run development projects, partly we manage various networks where a number of actors discuss the transformation of the transport sector, how we can get a common view on the way forward and together initiate projects that can take us there.

e-Mobility is funded by Region Västra Götaland.

What we do

e-Mobility focuses on and builds knowledge around vehicles powered by electricity and/or hydrogen and everything needed to operate them, such as stations for charging and hydrogen fuel and the energy supply needed to run these. We work to enable broad integration of electric and hydrogen vehicles in the transport system and, through project partners, develop mobility and logistics systems for both people and goods.

Within our networks, we discuss in collaborative platforms and projects how the transport system can best be converted and become fossil-free using the aforementioned technologies, while at the same time strengthening regional and national actors and increasing competitiveness. We develop and run projects together with industry, public actors and academia and stimulate knowledge exchange to drive Swedish, sustainable innovation.

The projects we run often have a system perspective where we collaborate with vehicle manufacturers, charging operators and grid companies, as well as logistics actors, universities and organizations working with, for example, AI and hardware for V2G. Our network is large and through other programs at Lindholmen Science Park, such as CLOSER, Triple F and AI Sweden, we have access to further insights, contacts and funding opportunities.
