On June 5, Lindholmen Science Park invites you to Audiovisual Talks with the game studio MoonHood.
MoonHood, based in Gothenburg, released its first game The Midnight Walk just under a month ago. Each game object has first been sculpted by hand in clay, then 3D-scanned into the game and animated in a style inspired by stop motion.
The studio was founded by Klaus Lyngeled and Olov Redmalm – the creative minds behind award-winning games such as Lost in Random and Ghost Giant. Together with a team consisting of not only programmers and designers, but also traditional clay sculptors, they strive to bring players into mysterious worlds – meticulously handcrafted in clay, cardboard and other unexpected materials – for a darkly dreamlike experience for consoles, PC and even VR.
At Audiovisual Talks, Moonhood talks about the creative process behind the game, how to combine physical craftsmanship with digital tools, and MoonHood’s view on and role in the gaming industry. It will be a creative and inspiring moment where moderator Tora Stridh shares her experience of the game, while game characters are created in clay - live together with one of MoonHood's sculptors. We are also invited to exciting conversations about the role of artistry in game development.
