Knowledge session with workshop: The opportunities of energy flexibility

What opportunities exist for flexibility in the city’s energy system at the building level? How can we use it to create shared benefits for the electricity grid?

THE CHALLENGE WE FACE

Flexibility in energy systems already exists today, but it needs to improve significantly. To achieve this, we must overcome several technical and structural barriers. Quite simply, our different energy systems do not communicate with each other sufficiently. Communication via APIs and data protocols is often lacking between energy types, actors, and even individual properties. This becomes particularly problematic and vulnerable in strained situations.

THE PATH TO SHARED BENEFIT

Improved communication would enable coordination between different property owners. This makes it possible to implement control based on mutually agreed conditions, with priorities driven by shared benefit.

But how do we actually optimise energy use in practice? How do we move from today’s challenges to a future that currently feels like science fiction? And above all: what is the next concrete thing we need to test?

WELCOME TO SHAPE THE FUTURE
We invite you to a knowledge session with a workshop where we will deepen our understanding of energy flexibility in the urban system. The aim is to develop the initiatives and innovation projects that will bring us closer to a desirable future.

The event is organised by Lindholmen Science Park, within the framework of the Go Real project.

The event is open to Go Real members and is aimed at those working on solutions for optimisation and flexibility in energy systems, including:
Göteborgs stad genom: Exploateringsförvaltningen, Stadsbyggnadsförvaltningen, Stadsfastighetsförvaltningen, Stadsmiljöförvaltningen, och Miljöförvaltningen; Göteborg Energi AB; Älvstranden Utveckling AB; Förvaltnings AB Framtiden; Framtiden Byggutveckling AB, Business Region Göteborg AB; Chalmers tekniska högskola, Göteborgs Universitet Handelshögskolan och Västra Götalandsregionen.
