International Science Festival Gothenburg at Lindholmen

On April 16-17, Lindholmen Science Park will become part of the International Science Festival Gothenburg. The theme for the festival is life and death. At Visual Arena, you will be able to experience how visualization can be used to explain and communicate research.

The event is a collaboration between Chalmers Library, Sahlgrenska Academy, Explainartist and Lindholmen Science Park.

Program, April 16

12:15 - 1:15 p.m.  Experience a virtual autopsy.
Patric Ljung, Doctor of Technology, University Lecturer, Linköping University and Visualiseringscenter C explains about development in the world’s first virtual autopsy table and takes you on a journey into the human body.

1:15 - 3:00 p.m.  Exhibition with visualization from the whole world
For ten years, researchers have collected visualization of data from around the globe to create the “Places & Spaces: Mapping Science” exhibition.

12:00 - 2:00 p.m.  Illustrate life, death, hope and fears
Ajibola Omokanye, doctoral candidate from the department of microbiology and immunology, Sahlgrenska Academy, will lead the workshop entitled “Infection and transmission: visualizing life, death, hope and fears”. Here, you will be able to participate and help to find ways to illustrate and visualize life, death, hope and fears.

2:00 - 4:00 p.m.  Exhibition with visualization from the whole world
