The KOMPIS project was launched to accelerate the development of “mobility as a service.” It will provide a shared forum to allow users to subscribe for mobility services instead of owning a car, and facilitate easier transport in a variety of ways, for example, driverless vehicles, public transit, car pools and hire bikes. The focus area is developing the cooperation between public and private players, services and business models. The change is radical and will require a cultural change, with shared mobility becoming the new norm, including shared car transport.
The project is part of the Swedish Government’s innovation partnership program, “The next generation’s travel and transport,” and is funded in part by Vinnova through Drive Sweden at Lindholmen Science Park.
