The history of Lindholmen Science Park is a history of how the ailing Lindholmen area became the most dynamic and knowledge-intensive area of Gothenburg. A story of successive crises and how the wrong side of the river became right.

Lindholmen Science Park AB was founded in 2000 by Chalmers University of Technology and the City of Gothenburg. Today, the City of Gothenburg, together with Swedish business, is our owner. Chalmers remains a strategic partner and important financier, as is the Västra Götaland Region, the University of Gothenburg and the Swedish Transport Administration, as well as Vinnova, the Swedish Energy Agency and Formas. As a neutral enabler, we have over time developed into a national resource for increased Swedish innovation.

This is a project with a mission to help Ukrainian refugees to enter the labor market in Sweden as soon as possible. The strength in our joint network can help create possibilities and inclusion, at the same time as many organisations can benefit from new competence.

Lindholmen Innovation District is Gothenburg's most knowledge-intensive and expansive area, and an important hub for the growing city of Gothenburg. Lindholmen Innovation District is undergoing continuous development and at the moment, we are in the midst of a very expansive phase, in terms of the physical development of the area. The following is a presentation of some of the ongoing and planned construction projects.

The Visitor Centre at Lindholmen Science Park is located in the main building at Lindholmspiren 3–5. The Visitor Centre can give directions to guests and provide various services to companies in the area.

Every day, 30,000 people travel to Lindholmen Innovation District to work, study, network or live. There are many ways of travelling to Lindholmen Science Park — free ferry, bicycle, car or bus. Because of the ongoing construction work, we recommend that you travel here by public transport.
