Exploring generative AI for creative industries

Wednesday, November 1, 2023

The digital edition of the Audiovisual Talks broke records with almost 150 registered participants. It was on Tuesday that the audience got to take part in Tatjana Samopjan's lecture on the theme "Storytelling - from generic to authentic with the help of AI".

Tatjana gave many examples of how you can use AI to become a good storyteller but pointed out that the strongest story is written by the one who lived.
''AI can give you many ideas about where to explore your story. But it's up to you to walk the talk and to do the research. AI has never walked the talk. You need to step into the subject you want to write about, and explore different perspectives in your story. Through body, mind and soul - live to tell the tale'', said Tatjana.

The lecture was followed by a two-day AI workshop led by Andrea Nordwall and Tatjana Samopjan. During two inspiring and creative days, Lindholmen was the meeting place for screenwriters, directors, actors, producers, game developers, journalists, teachers, etc. in a curious and unconditional attempt to better understand what generative AI is and how the new technology can be used and will affect all of us - for better, for worse - who work in the creative industries.
