11. Social media and Lindholmen Science Park
Lindholmen Science Park uses Social Media and other services for the purpose of informing about our operations and spreading knowledge through our channels.
The following companies may in some processing jointly act as data controllers; Facebook, X, Youtube, Vimeo, LinkedIn, Instagram and TikTok, who are providing social media services. Social media companies process personal data that occurs through social media. The joint data controller responsibility is in accordance with Article 26 GDPR.
Processing of Personal Data on Social Media
Our accounts and profiles on social media are public. When you visit our social media, certain processing of personal data will occur. Different social media platforms, such as Facebook and Instagram, can typically analyze your user behavior, for example, when you visit their website or a website with embedded social media-related features (e.g., "like" buttons and advertising banners).

If you are logged into your social media account and visit our account, the provider of the relevant social media channel can trace the visit to your user account. Under certain circumstances, your personal data may be collected even if you are not logged in or do not have an account with the respective social media channel, as personal data can be processed, for example, through cookies stored on your device or through your IP address.
Based on the collected information, the provider of the relevant social media channel can create user profiles where your preferences and interests are stored. This allows for interest-based advertising to be displayed to you both within and outside the relevant social media channel. If you have an account with the relevant social media channel, interest-based ads may be shown on all devices you are or have been logged into.
As account or profile owners on the relevant social media channels, we can only see the information stored on your profile if your profile is public and if you are logged into your account when visiting our social media profile or account. Additionally, the provider operating the relevant social media channel provides us with anonymous user statistics that we use to enhance the user experience for you as a visitor to our social media. However, we do not have access to information collected by the provider to create these statistics.
Note that we cannot trace or influence all processing that occurs on social media channels. This means that additional processing may be performed by the providers offering the relevant social media channels. If you wish to restrict processing, you can adjust appropriate privacy settings for your account and/or membership on the relevant social media channel. Information on privacy settings is available from each provider, for example, in terms of service or in a privacy policy (see below).
Purpose and Legal Basis for Processing of Personal Data
We use our social media channels to ensure that our company has the highest possible presence on the internet. We use social media to market our services and products and to connect with you as a visitor and user of these channels. Our use of social media and the processing of personal data within the scope of this use is based on our legitimate interest in being able to interact and communicate with our users and visitors in a modern and effective manner in accordance with Article 6.1.f GDPR and equivalent provisions under national data protection legislation.
If you choose to contact us via our social media (e.g., by creating your own articles, reacting to our articles, or sending us private messages), we process your personal data solely to be able to contact you. If you provide your consent to the processing, the legal basis is Article 6.1.a GDPR and equivalent provisions under national data protection legislation. When fulfilling a contractual obligation towards you, the legal basis is Article 6.1.b GDPR and equivalent provisions under national data protection legislation.
Processing initiated by the provider offering the relevant social media channel may be based on other legal bases. The provider is obliged to specify the legal basis or bases used (e.g., consent in accordance with Article 6.1.a of GDPR and equivalent provisions under national data protection legislation). Information is available in the respective provider's privacy policy (see below).
Joint Data Controller and Exercise of Rights
When you visit our social media channels, we are joint data controllers with the provider offering the relevant social media channel for the processing of personal data that occurs during your visit. This means that you can exercise your rights under Section V of this privacy policy against both us and the provider offering the relevant social media channel.
Although we are joint data controllers with the respective provider, we do not have full control over the procedures related to personal data processing on different social media platforms; these procedures are governed by the respective provider's company policy. More information is available in the privacy policy of each provider (see below).
Retention and Storage of Personal Data
All information collected directly by us via our social media is deleted from our systems as soon as the purpose of the personal data processing in each individual case is fulfilled or when you revoke your consent. Any cookies that are stored remain on your device until you delete them. Additionally, we store personal data as long as we are obligated to do so according to mandatory legislation.
We have no influence over the storage period that each provider applies for their own purposes. If you want to know more about how long each provider stores your personal data, you can contact the providers directly (e.g., through their privacy policy, see below).
