Lynk & Co wants to become an Airbnb among car brands

Wednesday, November 29, 2023

It has been around for seven years since its founding in Gothenburg and has become known for its subscription models and clubs. Now Volvo's sister brand Lynk & Co is launching a full-scale operation where people who rent cars can in turn rent them out to other private individuals.
''When we tested this before, some users received more revenue than what they pay us to rent the car'', says CEO Alain Visser.

Lynk & Co was developed by Cevt at Lindholmen, the name was hatched by CEO Alain Visser, who was clear from the start that he did not want the brand to function like traditional car brands.

''We deliberately don't talk much about the car, because the car is just an instrument for how we try to do business'', he says when GP meets him at the head office in Lindholmen.
