TouchMe Interactive Solutions AB a hit at the Geneva car show

Saturday, June 13, 2009

The multitouch technology created by innovation company TouchMe Interactive Solutions AB was a key part of the exhibition concept when Volvo Car Company presented its security solutions at the Geneva International Motor Show. Volvo’s booth received the prestigious Diplôme Creativity Award 2009 for its perfect blend of user friendliness and winning creativity.

The Geneva International Motor Show is one of the world’s most important car shows, and the only one that takes place annually in Europe. This year was the first time that Lindholmen-based innovation company TouchMe participated, delivering its new interactive marketing technology to an exhibitor’s booth.

The TouchMe screen
Quite simply, the technology allows the human hand to be used as a computer mouse through equipping a computer with an eye and teaching it to see fingers touching a surface. The Volvo booth had a 3x1-metre multitouch wall installed. Visitors could use the wall to access specific on-demand information on Volvo products, with no tools other than their own hands.
The Lindholmen Science Park also has a multitouch screen at the Visitors Centre on Lindholmspiren 5. Feel free to come and try it out.
